avrdude: ser_send(): size/send mismatch

I have a MEGA2560 Rev3. I am using IDE 1.0.5 running on winXP SP3. I have a bootloader that I believe has somehow become corrupt. I am using the ArduinoISP and a UNO Rev3 to try and burn the bootloader. Here is what I am getting when press Buurn bootloader:

System wide configuration file is "C:\Program Files\Arduino\hardware/tools/avr/etc/avrdude.conf"

I searched the web the best I could but I found no mention of "size/send mismatch". Any help would be appreciated. I'm pretty new to this stuff.

May be there is something here that will help you:

Hi Thanks. I uploaded that program onto my UNO ran it and it looks like it burned the bootloader into the Mega. It verified ok. When I know connect my MEGA to my PC and try to upload the BareMinimum Sketch, I Get:
