avrdude: stk500_recv(): programmer is not responding

I'm trying to upload the Blink code to my Arduino Uno. I just received it, and it was working for a while. I could upload and manipulate the blink function, and I could also upload the Button code. Everything worked fine. I unplugged it and went away for a while, came back and tried to upload another code, and I was presented with the error: avrdude: stk500_recv(): programmer is not responding.

I have my software set to: Board - Arduino Uno Serial Port - /dev/cu.usbmodem (although I have also tried it on /dev/tty.usbmodem Programmer - AVRISP mkII

When I select verbose output during upload, here's what I'm presented with (using /dev/cu.usbmodem):

What do I do?

Other than a USB cable, what do you have connected to the Uno?

I am having this same issue.

Sorry I didn't realize that I wasn't subscribed to this topic. I only have the board connected via USB. I actually figured out that I needed to have the Arduino plugged into a specific USB port, and once I used that port everything worked out. I'm not sure why I needed the specific port, but so far I haven't had any further issues.

Would there be any reason that I'd need to use one port over the other? I'm using an iMac with OSX 10.7.5.

bloogoo: Would there be any reason that I'd need to use one port over the other?

Available current. Defective connector.

Assuming the connector works fine (I haven't had any issues with any of my USB ports), would there be a significant difference in the available current to each USB port?

*When connected to a computer that supports a connection of 1100 mA at 5 V, the first port on the keyboard to have a device or peripheral connected to it that requests standard 500mA power will receive that power. At that point, 100 mA at 5 V is available through the remaining port on this keyboard.

AWESOME!

Thank you.
