Ok, i have tried all troubleshooting pages, all forum pages with regards to this error message and still no luck, so i apologise for posting again but this almost has me in tears!
I'm using MacBook Pro OS/X 10.5.8
Arduino Uno
Arduino Software 0022
I have tried uploading the blink example and the 'avrdude: stk500_recv(): programmer is not responding' message appears.
Both port and board configurations are as should be (also tried all the others with no luck) i have tried resetting the board before verifying and before uploading (holding the reset button down for many different time intervals i.e. 2 secs and 10 secs for all) still no luck
The funny thing is, my lecturer has tried it with my Arduino, same cable and the same software i have on his mac (older computer but OS/X 10.5.8) and it worked fine.
One thing different was he didn''t install the driver and i did (i found out you dont need it for Uno boards and have since deleted the driver but it still doesn''t work!!!!) ARGGHHH
