avrdude: stk500v2_ReceiveMessage(): timeout (At Mega 2560)

Good evening all,

I am experimenting with a few Arduino Mega 2560, i have had alot of success with the Uno R3 but i am having a few issues programming the Mega 2560.

My Kit: Arduino Mega 2560 R3

when i connect it to the laptop, the software recognises it, after i make the appropriate selections in the Tools menu.

when i upload even a blank sketch, the message error shows up

avrdude: stk500v2_ReceiveMessage(): timeout

interesting fact, i have another Arduino Mega 2560, and that seems to be working fine

any suggestions

Use the one that works. This suggests that you have done something bad to the one that is not responding.

Yeah

i actually have four of those units, all i did was plug each one in one at a time and tried to upload a code, only two out of four have actually worked, odd..

I have the same problem on 3 arduino's and one Mega ,with Linux mint Cinnemon and my Mac
