AVRISP 2 Arduino IDE problem "avrdude: usbdev_open(): did not find a

I tried AVRISP 2 with the A IDE. I did not edit any text files but just chose the board and programmer from menu. When I press "burn the bootloader" I get this "avrdude: usbdev_open(): did not find any USB device "usb"". What is wrong.

Do I need any drivers for the programmer? AVRstudio seems to find it

I have now installed AVRstudio and it seems to install some drivers. But I still get the same error.

What is needed in the IDE to use AVRISP 2. Is choosing it from menus enough.
