I've recently purchased an avrispmkII and i'm having problems programming with it. I have installed the drivers successfully and device manager shows the avrispmkII there as succesfully installed. But when I try to upload a sketch through the arduino IDE or use avrdude, it responds exactly as if the programmer is not plugged in, and the same happens with avrstudio. The model is made in 2009 so it isn't a firmware problem, and the error occurrs regardless if it is plugged into the Arduino board or not. Has anyone had this problem and do you have a solution?
i've fixed the problem by using the device on my older computer where it works perfectly ;D ;D ;D
