Been getting a lot of "Bad gateway" errors today.
Me too
and me.
Is this because the system is over worked?

I just got "service unavailable"
Me four.
Me too.
Also sometimes when I click a post link I get dumped to the start page and have to do a couple of refreshes before the required page finally comes up.
Feedback from the backroom boys (or girls) would be nice.

...and now gateway timeouts
I have also experienced other strange behaviour.
On at least two occasions when I posted a Reply (say in Project Guidance) and it was taking a long time to upload I have tried to use the time productively by open a different page in another browser tab (for example the Programming Section) and instead of the Programming Section opening I got the response page for the Post, and in the browser tab where I had posted the reply I simultaneously got a timeout.
So far (thankfully) my stuff seems not to have been mixed up with that of other users.

I've been copying every post I write because of this garbage, lost several of my trademark essay-length posts...
They are aware and are on it.
If it happens when hitting the post button try hitting BACK on your browser to make sure the post went through.
It also helps mitigate the effect here at least.
Other side affects are getting dumped back to the main forum area rather than one you may have selected but usually hitting the area you want again will work fine the second time around.
Usual things also apply like clear cache and so on.
Any other info from the dev console might also be useful if you remember to catch it.
We just updated the forum to use our new Auth system today. The new system does not have all the issues you encountered during the weekend.
Sorry for the inconvenience, yet another reason to update this forum

It would be be nice to get advance notice of when those changes are to take place. Then we would know to make allowances.

You just did ;D

Firstly, I had hoped my Reply #12 would have been read, and responded to, by @mastrolinux
Secondly, the text of Reply #11 says "We just updated the forum" and does not say "We will be updating the forum ...." so I do not consider it advance notification.
I also refer you to my other Thread about notifications which you seemed to think was useful.

Reminds me of the old adage ... If you find yourself in a hole, the first thing is to stop digging
IIRC the changes did start a couple of weeks ago.

HOLE thing has been rolling out "slowly" to mitigate any issues that may arise from my understanding.
Dont think it is yet complete either.
Some people don't have enough to do
Yesterday and today I noticed that when I open my browser at the Forum it does not automatically sign me in. It shows SIGN IN at the top right of the page. But when I click SIGN IN it signs me up immediately without me needing to provide my details.
Prior to these changes I was always signed in as soon as I opened a Forum web page.
...R
Yup, I've seen that today too.
