Sorry ... I phrased my question very poorly. I'm not THAT much of a non-electronics guy 
Robin2 suggested to connect a 4700 ohm resistor between signal and ground .... .... but the signal needs to get from the Arduino pin to the servo ...
Is Robin2 suggesting this?
