Battery guidance

Hello, batteries are always the problem for my projects. I have made a robot that uses 6 996R servo. It runs fine when using a PSU. But I need it to run on battery power, however the battery packs are so bulky and heavy. Can someone advise a battery pack that has high output and light weight?

LiPo is pretty much the best battery technology right now. It has the highest energy density for anything short of a military budget. You do have to be careful with them and use the right charger. Otherwise that excellent energy storage can burn down your house.

Hi Rich,

What voltage and current does your system need? Typical servos operate on 5 or 6 volts; often 7.2V or so is used, which is close to two LiPO cells.

"High Output and Light Weight" points to the LiPOs that are used in Multirotor Model Aircraft. CNN would call those "Drones".
