I am trying to make an auto door opener, and have all the parts that I need. However, when I was testing my parts, none of them worked because my Arduino Uno isn't recieving enough power. I tried using 6 AA batteries connected using a battery pack to the DC jack, that didn't work so I tried a power outlet through the USB port, and that didn't work either.
Always show us a good schematic of your proposed circuit.
Show us a good image of your ‘actual’ wiring.
Give links to components.
Well I don't have schematics or anything yet but I just followed a tutorial. I'll just make this in Tinkercad really quick and send it
Servos need to be powered by an external power source.
Looks like you are not powering the servo properly.
Well based off of this you have 2 Gnds going into your servo, also if it is just one Servo you can run it just off of the arduino power source LarryD, especially because that seems to be all the arduino is doing
That is not a good idea. Servo electrical noise can cause an Arduino to malfunction or even destroy it.
Also, the Arduino 5V output cannot be used for motors or servos. Use 4xAA for the servo, and connect all the grounds.
Hi, @beatmakerofficial
Welcome to the forum.
How big is the door?
Can you please post link to spec/data of the servo?
Forget Fritzy pictures.
Can you please post a copy of picture of a hand drawn circuit in jpg, png?
Hand drawn and photographed is perfectly acceptable.
Please include ALL hardware, component names and pin labels.
The UNO should not power the servo, just signal it and share a common gnd with the servo's power supply.
Thanks.. Tom..
