I'm using a L298N motor driver and two motors to create a car chassis (I'm sure you've seen the sorts of kits available). The L298N is providing power to the Arduino, which is also connected to an HM-10 Bluetooth BLE module.
So far, the L298N is powered by a single PP3 battery. As you can imagine, the battery doesn't last long! Can anyone recommend a suitable battery or batteries (preferably rechargeable)? I'd like to get the full 12v into the L298N if possible.
As you figured out, PP3 are useful for smoke alarms, but not much else. Certainly not anything involving motors!
Bad news: L298 is not a good choice for battery powered projects. It's an old design and not very efficient, with a large voltage drop. There are much better modern alternatives. In order for the forum to recommend one, and a suitable battery, post details of the specs of your motors, especially the stall currents.
Also tell the forum what type of Arduino you are using. Again, sone types of Arduino are not a great choice for battery powered projects!
I'm using an Uno R3 clone. I'm unsure of the spec of the motors, but they're the cheap ones typically found in Arduino chassis kits (like this one: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08D39MFN1 )
