Without any doubt do Nextion displays have their advantages and depending on what you're doing there aren't any good alternatives. However, you should definitely consider how they may treat you as customer - even if you're a company that intends to buy significant quantities.
Since their forums require a login even to read, many people are not aware of the following Therefore I'm making this post. Please read it and decide for yourself if you want to support this or not.
Nextion Forum Thread (gives an error 404 without login).

The topic could have ended nicely with something like "We do not have any Solidworks models that we could provide you, but there are community models available, f.ex. on Grabcad, if this is an option for you."
Instead they...
- Deflect the problem back to the end-user
- Answer beside the point; debating over company network policies without ever explicitly saying that they cannot provide what he asked for.
- Insult the user ("it is indeed you who loses all for your ill placed arrogance"). Granted he wasn't the most polite person but they certainly didn't de-escalate either.
- Scare away a future customer
Not all forum topics end like that - in fact, they do help many users. Nonetheless this sort of replies is not an exception. Answers beside the point, self-praising, blaming the user has happened over and over again for years. Even worse, they're obviously successful enough with their product to not have any incentive to change that behavior. I sincerely hope this post helps changing that.
In the meantime you might want to check out the Unofficial Nextion/TJC User Forum. Beside being a good place to get help with your Nextion/TJC screen, it also contains all the stuff that gets banned from their forums (third party open source tools f.ex.), testimonies about how (commercial) customers have been treated and some reports about their varying product quality.
@Mods please consider linking to this topic or at least mentioning the issue in the pinned Nextion tutorial to help raising awareness and leading hopefully to an improvement of the situation.
Kind regards,
Max
