Beginner to arduino: question about servo motors

Hi so i'm very new to arduino and I'm currently planning a project where i need to control 0.5 kW servo motor, is this something that can be done with an arduino uno? All the resources ive found online seem to be for motors with much lower power ratings. Do I need to interface the arduino with a separate servo drive?

And are there any resources anyone can recommend to help achieve this?

Thanks in advance

You need to post a link to the datasheet for your servo motor and its servo-motor-driver. On this Forum servo usually means the sort of thing used to control a flying model airplane. I suspect you are talking about an industrial servo that is used similarly to a stepper motor.

Apologies, the link to the motor and driver can be found here:

This seems to be the manual (403 page PDF): https://docs-emea.rs-online.com/webdocs/1443/0900766b81443bc6.pdf

Such controllers have a lot of ways to be controlled and configured, you'll need to figure how
you want it configured and which interface to drive.

So what are you actually trying to do?

It's for a uni project where I need to control the motion of a hinged raft. I actually need to also control the motion based on readings from an IMU sensor.

I'm completely new to this so I'm just really not sure where to even begin looking

"control the motion" is rather vague. Position control, speed control? Rapid fluctuations? Smooth motion?

Perhaps you are tracking orientation?

Do you have examples/graphs of the readings from the IMU?
