Beginner: useful bench power supply

Hi All,

I have been playing a little with Arduino in the past, and now I'd like to spend a bit more time on it.

One thing I would like to build is a little 360 turntable for digitising objects - I have found some designs on the internet that I will adapt a bit - it will use a NEMA 17 stepper motor (I don't know which yet).

I am thinking to buy a bench power supply that will be useful for this and other things in the future; until now I've only made things that can be powered via USB. I am thinking about getting the following:

Does anyone have any thoughts / recommendations on the subject? I guess the one above will be nice and flexible if later on I want to build something with several motors for example.

Thanks!

Brutha

I bought one of these a while back.
It is nice to have adjustable +-30v and 5v.
There may be something similar where you are.

Do you need 10amps?

Thanks! At the moment, no I guess I don’t need 10 amps - was thinking that it might be useful in the future if I want to build something with bigger stepper motors.

But as I say, I’m quite new to this - perhaps it’s overkill!
