Beginners Arduino Workshop Wellington, NZ 4-5 July

Beginners Arduino Course in Wellington, New Zealand

4-5th July 2009 | more Wellington Beginners Arduino Workshop details

What could be better than spending a weekend learning about Arduino,
the favorite open source physical computing platform for designers,
artists and hobbyists. Get started in a friendly learning environment
designed especially for beginners.

Don't have any experience with software, electronics or physical computing?

Excellent! No experience is necessary.

This course is designed for beginners who have no experience with one
or more of the areas of software, electronics and physical computing.

Students, artists, and designers are especially welcome to attend.

Not quite a beginner? If so, this course will have something for you
too. The first part of the course will provide you with an
introduction to physical computing concepts and a refresher on the
basics. Then you'll learn good sketch writing habits and how to make
use of the more sophisticated devices from our Beginner Sensor and
Control Kit.

Class size is strictly limited so you will receive more personal
attention over the weekend.

Day one
An introduction to physical computing and then you get started with
the Arduino, writing sketches and connecting parts.

Day two
An opportunity to create your own project that interacts with its
environment while you learn how to use a variety of sensors and
control devices. And you'll get to take your project home with you!

MindKits is proud to provide the opportunity for you to attend this
course. We're very fortunate to have Philip Lindsay of rancidbacon.com
(a.k.a. follower on these forums  ) to take the class and impart his
wealth of knowledge in two full days of learning and experimenting.

Price
The two day course is $NZ299 per person if paid in full by Wednesday
24th June or $NZ329 if paid in full before Wednesday 1st July (in both
cases plus the cost of an Arduino if you don't already have one).

It helps us to plan if you register as early as possible so you'll be
doing yourself and us a favour if you get the early-bird discount.

This price includes the Beginner Sensor and Control kit with a range
of electronic components to get you on your way, including buttons,
LEDs, a Passive Infrared Sensor, Buzzer and servo motor.

If you do not already own an Arduino let us know and we'll bring one
along for you to purchase on the day or you can purchase an
Arduino Duemilanove from MindKits.
