Eventually I'll get the right files and folders arranged, a half-fast try hasn't worked. I did find an old thread on the subject that mentioned future releases might not be the same so I ask;
I have 1.8.19... is anyone running dark theme on that or later?
So far I think that finding where my install is (Raspbian Linux and a mess of backups on the card) then getting all the parts in place should do it and save my aching eyes!
I use the forum dark theme or I wouldn't be here at all.
This is my variant of an IDE 1.8.19 dark theme. Just replace the arduino/lib/theme/theme.txt file with the attached one. Note that the documentation on the themes colors i broken in most parts. theme.txt (3.3 KB)
Success but not. A lot of text and symbols are black on black.
On my drive the folder is arduino-1.8.19
In my arduino-1.8.19/lib/theme/syntax folder
there are 2 .xml files. default and dark
I renamed default.xml as defaultorig.xml and copied dark.xml as default.xml and THAT WORKED!
Now I have dark theme will everything showing!
My eyes are saved and I can get back to programming.
