I would be tempted to go for something 5v only for breadboarding so there is no chance I can set it wrong and get some blue smoke :stuck_out_tongue:

We use that type of bench power supply at the office, for Arduino projects as well as other stuff. They work OK. My only minor criticism is that the output on/off switch is rather small, which makes it harder to press in a hurry when you need to!
