BEst 16 by 2 display for beginner

simply , i am looking for a simple display i can tell to give feedback from a sensor. preferrably not too hard to program , thats it. im using a mega 2650

I suggest an HD44780-compatible character display. It's the easiest out there.

There are several shields that you can use to utilize this display without having to connect all the wires with jumper wires. I designed one of them. Don't want to make this reply my sales pitch. Read my signature if you want details.

Often very cheaply available in a dozen different colour combinations on Ebay. Thats where I got all mine........

A serial display connects to the serial port and need less lines. E.g. this one - LCD03 - It is a serial screen with option to connect a numeric keypad. It is not the cheapest but its ability to add the keypad makes it very interesting. I have one (more) on my wishlist
