Hi, I was wondering in the $30/40 range, an IMU with integrated sensor fusion. I have to replace the BNO055 because I saw afterwards that its self-calibration at startup cannot be deactivated (device purely for wearable or small-sized applications) and therefore it self-calibrates every time and for me, it is inconvenient because it is inside a glider. I was therefore looking for a similar IMU that doesn't have this problem and generates sensor fusion for me.
The market is competitive, so all the current consumer grade 9DOF IMU offerings have similar characteristics. Adafruit, Sparkfun and Pololu carry well designed hobby modules, and Madgwick or Mahony AHRS code is available for most, if not all of them.
Calibration should be performed with the sensor in its final mounting place.
