I used to buy mine at Frys locally, but they ran out and they are terrible at restocking stuff these days. Anyone know a good place to get it without getting killed on shipping? Frys sells it $5 for 100 feet when they have it in. They used to have decent breadboard prices too, but they have been out of those for 3 months. What is up with Frys these days?
I am in Chicagoland. Mostly interested in mail order but if anyone knows a local shop, I get around and would go anywhere in the area to stock up right now. I am running low.
I think 24 AWG is best for solderless breadboards.
Just cut the wire clean and straight as crummy cutters make a little hook at the end like and that will catch, kink, and make you cuss.
It helps to have a pair of needle-nose ("noodle-knees") pliers to start the wire in with.
(Yes, 26 is "easy", too easy.)
If you didn't know, All Electronics has great customer service. They've been around for a long time.
Thanks. I use the 26 AWG with pad-per-hole solderboards and suppliment it with 24 AWG to VCC and ground on parts that might pull extra current like LED drivers. It seems to work great. I do use breadboards too to prototype, but I am busy right now soldering some designs up for permanence. Anyway, I am going to try some of these guy's 24 AWG. Fry's has neither the 24 nor the 26 so 24 is good enough right now.
