Hello what are some sensors and other things that would be useful when I buy an arduino?

I Would buy

Ds1307 Real time
GPS sensor
LCD Screen Shield.
temperature sensor

LCD shield wastes too many pins unless you really want the buttons too. LCD with I2C "backpack".

8 by 8 matrix with MAX7219 is fun. Crude (and bright) graphic display. Uses only 3 control lines, can be chained.

Digital temperature sensors.

Breadboard! Big one (MB102 with the red and blue lines not broken in middle) and a couple of little ones.

Jumper wires for breadboard.
