"Stripboard" is generally more useful, The ICs mount perpendicular to the tracks, so you cut the tracks with a craft knife or Dremel down the middle under the ICs and you can connect on both sides of the ICs.
Or you can get ready-made PCBs which have the same pattern as a solderless breadboard ready to just mount the ICs.
