Big non ASCII-Code file - how to post without using ZIP?

In this thread

user allen_coelho
uploaded a logic-analyser-datafile to google-drive but this file is not accessible.

It is a file that is not ASCII-coded. It is some proprietary fileformat with a very big size.
Of course this could be attached as a ZIP-file. Though ZIP-files are suspected to be malicious and / or infectious.

Question 1: How to post such a file in the arduino-forum
So what would be a way to post such a file in the forum?

Linking to a external cloud-service for downloading a file is suspected to be malicious and/or infectious too.

Question 2:
How to make such a file accessible without linking to some external cloud-service?

Question 3: does somebody know of a cloud-service that does virus-scanning / malware-scanning ? and is really trustworthy so anybody who would like to look into the file can download and beeing sure that the file is not malicious / infectious?

best regards Stefan
Is there some

not what you are looking for but you could use VirusTotal (owned by Chronicle Security - a subsidiary of Alphabet (think Google)) to scan a zip file (or others)

VirusTotal is free to end users for non-commercial use and they have an API if you want to automate submissions

Hi @StefanL38

Since the Saleae Logic software is a common tool used by the Arduino community, I have now added the .sal file extension of its capture files to the forum's allowed attachment file extensions.

So it is now possible for forum users to attach .sal files to forum posts.

Even though this might settle the question of .sal files specifically, I think the general subject of best practices for sharing file assets for forum posts is still worthy of continued discussion.
