Bluefruit EZ-Link use with Apple MFI chip

Is it possible to use the Bluefruit EZ-Link with the Apple MFi chip?

I understand that the Bluefruit EZ-Link cannot pair with an iOS device.

However if I have access to an MFI authentication chip, the chip can be queried for the authentication code. Is it possible to include the authentication step with the Bluefruit EZ-Link using an Arduino?

For example, can the Bluefruit EZ-Link be used as described in the diagram here, where the Arduino would be the Host Microcontroller:

If so, do you have any info on how?

I was able to pair my EZ-Link to my iPad 3 just fine, and read the default single-key codes from it. I was going to make it manually send the iCade key sequences via serial from the Arduino, but I have not had time to work with that.
