Bluesmirf + Arduino, RSSI read

Hi,

Does anybody know how to read the signal power (RSSI) of, let's say, my phone or laptop?

In command mode, if I send "L" from arduino serial terminal when the bluesmirf is not connected to anything, it will responds "not connected".

But if the bluesmirf is connected to a bluetooth device, if I send "L" from arduino serial terminal, then it would be transmitted to the other bluetooth device directly.

How can we store the RSSI value?

How can we store the RSSI value?

Before we get into how to do something with some mysterious hardware, explain WHY you want to do something nearly useless.

Either the RSSI value is high enough for you to receive data, or it isn’t. That is ALL that you would learn from reading the RSSI value, if your device even supports that capability.
