Whats the cheapest way to get bluetooth? I have an Ardunio Uno 3 at the moment, I've seen a USB host shield, but I'm wondering if there is a more direct and cheaper method getting bluetooth support.

There are often very cheap bluetooth break-out boards on eBay. Most of them are only able to be used in slave mode (ie something else needs to initiate the connection) but I've know some can be flashed to firmware to get them to be capable of master too. These can be had for around $US10.

If you're looking for a shield, the next cheapest way I've found is to use a bluetooth bee, with a shield that has a bee slot. That's potentially a simpler path for learning curve, and the bees do come with additional capabilities (whether you need it or not is another question of course).
