Cant see why you shouldnt be able to use it..
I have made at character base communacation between Android and arduino
I have implemented DIY bluetooth shield based on chinese bluetooth breakboard, ArduinoCommander (https://market.android.com/details?id=name.antonsmirnov.android.arduinocommander) and StandardFirmata sketch.
Nice program...
It seems quite easy to use.
