I don't think this will work
bluetooth.begin(115200); // The Bluetooth Mate defaults to 115200bps
// ......
bluetooth.begin(9600); // Start bluetooth serial at 9600
because it relies on SoftwareSerial working at 115200 baud to send messages to the Bluetooth device to get it change to a lower baud rate.
