I have a Gerbing 12V heated jacket that I use for motorcycle riding in the winter. I'd like to make a bluetooth/wireless heated controller with a thermostat that can be controlled from my Droid.
The reason, I'd like it to have a thermostat or have it automatically controlled is, because when I start riding the wind chill drops the temperature and I have to turn the jacket rheostat up to compensate. And vice versa, now after driving on the highway and coming to light, and the wind chill no longer being a factor, the jacket is way to hot and I have to turn it down. Only to have to turn it up once I'm on the road again.
It currently has 10K pot switch, in order to turn the heat up or down.
I'm thinking, I'd like to simply replace the 10K pot switch with a programable arduino microcontroller that will vary the resistance to maintain a desired temperature in the jacket. And having it bluetoothed to my phone as the temperature setting controller is just to make it cool.
I have a detailed schematic of the temperature controller I'm using now, that I'd like tap into if that helps.
Any help would be much appreciated,
