Hi All,
I am very new to the Bluetooth programming environment.
I require the use Bluetooth 4.0 data transmitter that will send strain gauge information to a mobile device and use an app (not yet created) to display the loads.
I need a transmitter that is very small and lightweight and also a method of displaying this data on an app.
Any help or advice you can provide me with regarding either a suitable board or app creation will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance all!!
Tom
The Tinysine BT-4 module is pretty tiny and there are several small Arduinos, like the Pro Mini, that are about the same size.
You will probably find that there are several terminal apps for this purpose and you should check them out before trying to re-invent the wheel. If you have an Android device, you might try Bluetooth Graphics terminal, which can give you a graph on the phone as well as the numbers.
You might find the following background notes useful

Excellent, thanks Nick.
I will have a further look into the Tinyshine module as I've been originally looking at a Sparkfun Bluesmirf module and I'm not sure it'll do the job.
With regards to the app I'm trying to create a business app so it has to be unique. Although i will see what i can do with the graphics terminal.
Thanks again

Okay the Tinyshine Bluetooth module seems to be what I'm looking for.
However, I am unsure of how it will connect to my amplifier,
I doubt that it connects to any amplifier at all. It connects to the serial ports of the Arduino.
