Bluetooth Module says pairing unsuccessful

hello all!
I am looking for a bluetooth/BLE with which you can pair with both IOS/ Android without the need of an app.

For now I have the DB004-BT836B and it says "Pairing Unsuccessful"
Do you know of another Bluetooth device which you can pair with?

I need to retrieve the RSSI value between the phone and module, so i don't need to technically "control" the module.

Any suggestions based on experience?
