Bluetooth Proximity Light

I want to make an Arduino, Bluetooth powered version of this project :

I want it to turn on when it's dark and when there's a BLE device within 5 metres.
I know I'll have to use a relay for the Arduino and some type of Bluetooth module but I don't know how to make the light turn on for any device within the range as opposed to just paired devices.

I was going to use an Uno, a BLEduino.cc or Bluefruit LE ( www.adafruit.com/products/1697 )with a photoresistor.

Can anybody advise the best way at progressing?

Did you go ahead with this? I want to do something similar - use iPhone as a bluetooth proximity sensor to turn on my main door light. I don't want to use a motion sensor as it will trigger on with strangers as well. I want the light to turn on when one of the family members (identified) with their unique bluetooth mac addresses approach the door.
Is it possible? What all components should I be using.?
