bluetooth servo control

i have no idea on this coding mararky so can someone help and quote me please.

basically i want to control a single servo with bluetooth, using either blutuino or lofi app on iphone
i have a arduino nano, servo and a hm-10 module.
i'm wanting the servo to go up and stay up with either slider or joystick and go down with the slider/joystick. servo following the servo/joystick. if that makes any sense?

Is the sender sending a byte or a string?
