BME280 Reconditioning Procedure

Hello,

in datasheet for BME280 sensors (temperature, humidity, pressure) is chapter "7.9 Reconditioning Procedure".

https://www.mouser.sk/datasheet/2/783/BST-BME280-DS002-1509607.pdf

I'm looking for tips or suggestions how to perform that procedure in home without any speciale devices

For example:

  • how to reach and hold >75% rH in oven for 6h

Do you have some experiences with that procedure? I think that after soldering, my sensors shows 10% less humidity value than other DHT22 sensor.

Thank You

Using a steamer?

I don't think the first two procedure is meant to be done in a typical household environment.
Have you tried the third one? You can do that in your bathroom without to much effort.

I would trust the BME280 then. The DHT22 sensors are not known to be very accurate.

The sensors are cheap anyway - if you doubt it you can check against a known accurate source and/or bin it and get another .

Buy from reputable source too

For me it is easy, I have an environmental oven. This would be an excuse to get one. Consider how accurate you need to be.
