BMP280 Ic2

Hi,

I'm new to the Arduino world (well one week old :o )

I got my list of parts last week, with a set project in mind, and have got most of it working other than the BMP280 chip.

I'm running on a Nano
1602 LCD works fine
RTC Ic2 works fine
BMP280 Ic2 NOT WORKING!!!

It's oneof these from Fleebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GY-BMP280-3-3-Atmospheric-Pressure-Sensor-Module-for-Arduino-BMP180-Replacement/152510496590?_trksid=p2047675.c100013.m1986&_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D43782%26meid%3D93c9dd0de6d54e3fbbf9e7b7e73fcea1%26pid%3D100013%26rk%3D5%26rkt%3D12%26sd%3D132143856960

I've run lots of sketches but most that seem to be fine with with the Nano are for the BMP180, I dont think it's my wiring as the IC2 clock on the same bus works fine, the clock being 5v powered and the BMP 3.3V

Does anyone have any sketches for this chip? please mutchly

Many thanks

I wouldn't trust anything about that eBay listing - the BMP280 does not sense humidity (that would be a BME280), and I'm not convinced it is 5V safe.

(It's I2C, BTW)

spycatcher2k:
BMP280 in google returned this : Arduino Test | Adafruit BMP280 Barometric Pressure + Temperature Sensor Breakout | Adafruit Learning System

Hi, yes I've been there more than a few times, and linked onto the Bosch data but it's all zombies for me sadly

Many thanks for your time though

Sold as "GY-BMP280-3.3" (note the 3.3).

This board is for 3.3volt processors.
It has no onboard 3.3volt voltage regulator, and no I2C level shifters.
I go with AWOL and spycatcher2k. You might have fried it.
Leo..

Hi AWOL,

lol at the I2c, 2CI, ICU2 thing! sorry, M8 it's been a long week and steep learning curve for me! and made my brain boil at times!!!

To verify I'm not running it (BME or BMP) on 5v, Iv'e got a funduino break out shield, powering the clock 5v and the BMP on 3.3V, but sharing the SDA and SCL lines on a breadboard?

Everything else is working fine, but my project needs a BMP chip that is easy to set up and get values from, just on the Mb pressure side, over a max of 8 seconds. It's not being used for altitude, just as a comparator in spirometry.

With that in mind I'm happy to throw the cheap chip in the back of my tool box. What chip would you recommend? IT would be nice if it we ICU2 or even Ic2  but but working and readable is a MUST.

Many thanks for your time and INPUT.

Have you amended the I2C address from 77 to 76?
