Hi all.
I have this 3 meter extension cable from Atlas Scientific:
https://www.atlas-scientific.com/product_pages/components/bnc_cable.html?
And I want to make another one for myself. I don't know much about BNCs.
Atlas says that "BNC-C"
There are many different BNC connectors at ebay and I couldn't figure it out where to buy.
Can you please suggest me something?
Thanks.
Hi Ersan,
Firstly, you need to check the cable of your existing cable to know if you need 50Ω or 75Ω cable.
Knowing what you are doing, I suspect you need 50Ω cable, and that this will be RG-58 type, say like RG-58/CU cable.
So, I went looking on ebay, and there doesn't seem to be many suppliers of RG-58 extension cables with BNC style connectors, which surprised me.
But here is one such cable rom the states as an example of what you might need.
Ebay BNC RG85 extension cable
I would hope you can buy this sort of thing from Asia or closer to you rather than from the United States.

Thank you Paul.
Today, i have spent couple of hours to find that cable in my country.
When i google it with RG-58 / 50Ω / BNC Male - Female keywords, i found some companies which could supply the extension cable.
We'll see
Regards.
One of the firm suggested me (Male)--(Male)+(Female)--(Female) to make the extension cable.
May be the best is making my own extension cable.
I found these.
Crimper: http://goo.gl/UTzvyy (US $15.18)
Coax stripper: http://goo.gl/9LyWFU (US $1.99)
RG58 C/U: http://goo.gl/FdSQTH (US $0.3 / meter)
What do you think?

Rather than a F to F cable, just get a BNC joiner. The standard common cables are M to M. A short cheap joiner at one end of the cable is better than a join in the middle of the cable.

What you need Ersan is a simple extension cable, that is all, so you can place your probes further away from the sensor board.
For this, you only need a cable with one female at one end and one male at the oher end.
Avoid using two cables or adapters, they will more likely give you trouble.
Remember an old saying:
'Fuses, connectors and relays, often cause frustrating delays'
You can make up such cables by being sure you paid good attention to every small detail.
One small error and you will have problems at some point in time, that you will least expect a cable to cause.
If you make a cable, always fully test it with a multimeter first fo rshorts and open circuit.
Over the years I have made many many cables, many RF cables as I did a lot of radio work, with both solder and crimp connectors, and so I have seen all the problems. Yes, I do make mistakes too, but I know what I was looking for.
I still find it totally unexplainable that you can not find one person in your area who can make up a few simple BNC extension cables for you. The TV specialists and security companies surely can do it, but you have said they can't or won't.
Paul
Thank you weedpharma and Paul.
I went another shop in my city and said i need a BNC cable like mine.
He couldn't be sure at first because sample BNC cable was not RG58.
Then i understood why other shops told me that they can't make the same BNC cable.
They didn't have that thin cable.
Then i asked him to make it with RG58 which is thicker than sample BNC cable.
He made one BNC extension cable which is 3 meter from 10$ in an hour
Thanks again.
