Board design help - I2C jumpers

Hi,

I have a question about jumpers for setting an I2C address. I'd like to have a solder jumper or a standard .1 jumper, but I'm not sure how each side of the connection should be set up. Should I connect pull-ups, then the jumper, then GND? So that if there is no jumper, the pin is pulled-up HIGH, and if there is a jumper, it would be LOW? Or would the pull-ups still hold it HIGH?

Do I need a three way solderjumper? So my pin is in the middle, and whichever jumper I connect either connects to VCC or GND? Do I use a pull-up in this case, or connect directly to VCC?

Thanks!

Jimmy

2-way jumper - pin is pulled high unless jumper is connected to pull it low. 10K usually plenty.

If you don't have room for a pullup, then 3-way - connect pin to Vcc or to Gnd.

I think I got it, so like this:

vcc ----www-----|----------< >------- GND
^ | ^
10k | (pin) jumper

Thanks!

Yes.
