Welcome to the Forum! Read the forum guidelines to see how to properly ask a question and some good information on making a good post. Please describe what the hardware do you use.
Your post is lacking details. Among those that might help us to help you
Alwasy follow what @b707 & @sterretje suggested when posting.
Generally, install IDE 2.0 and make sure that you install all the package cores and libraries that pop up after the IDE installation. Then use a good data USB cable to connect your board to to the computer, the IDE should auto-detect your board.
If it does not, you can manually install your board's Package Core.
For ESP boards, follow these guides ESP32 with Arduino IDE 2.0/ESP82 with Arduino IDE 2.0
Also try a different USB cable, there are cables that are intended for charging devices, those only have the power and ground wires and leave out the two data wires entirely.
