Thanks to all who helped during the design stage
(read all about it here http://arduino.cc/forum/index.php/topic,61126.0.html)
and to those of you who will be voting

Good luck!

Thanks!

Someone entered on the Newark blog that microchip uCs needed to be used.
I couldn't find one that was comparable to a '1284. Their filter tool doesn't seem to actually filter. Kinda disappointing.

Find the cheapest lowest pin count Microchip MCU and add it to the design as an ornament. ]

[/quote]Pure genius.

I think you can use a ELM chip for connecting to automotive computers. I was lead to believe that ELM is based on a pic chip. I hope that would qualify.

I like Bobuino and hope to vote for you. I don't know how yet also.

You could use a 18F14K50 as a USB/Serial converter.

+1 from me

I "liked" it as well.

I agree with the above, get a 6-pin PIC and use it to drive the power LED
