book-recommendation

Hello,

I´m searching for a beginners-book on electronics, which covers the basic stuff like circuit-design, resisters, transistors, diodes as well as radio and above all quarz-oscillators. I´ve just read a book about digital technology (Klaus Beuth) and now eventually understand how a microprocessor calculates but not how exactly the clock-pulse signal is generated (I know it has something to do with capacitors and inducers, haha....but that´s it). I also want to be able to eventually be able to choose afterwards the right quarz and build my own oscillating-circuit in order to understand how digital clocks work exactly.

Any recommendations?
Thanks for your answers!

I will recommend

ARRL Handbook

The Art of Electronics

  • 1 for The Art of Electronics. Make sure you get the 3rd edition which has just come out.

I've found this book extremely useful so far.
