bool vs boolean

I've seen the word "bool" thrown around a few times in other's code, but it doesn't change to the the color orange like "boolean" does in the IDE. Does that mean "bool" is not recognized in the Arduino IDE?

The fact that it's not orange only tells you it's not in a keywords.txt file. If it doesn't compile, then you know that it's not recognized by the Arduino IDE.

So then does bool still operate the same as boolean?

You can use both, Arduino created boolean to have a bool like variable which is compatible between C & C++.

No, in your code its best to just use bool.

ok thanks. That might explain that when using boolean vs bool I'm getting some strange results.
