Boost converter similar to LM317

Hi,

Sorry if I posted this electronic question in the wrong section, most of the sections says arduino, but this is a general eletrocnic question.

I've been using LM317 for years as a step down adjustable voltage regulator. But now I need a step up adjustable voltage regulator similar to it, and I cant find a chip name that I can search on brazilian market.

My load will never be more than 1.5A, and I would like to provide between 10 and 20v as input and get ouput at low as 4v. What would you recommend my frienrds?

Confused, do you want BOOST or BUCK ?

For digital applications, suggest you use a SMPS.
These are very good.
MT3608 (boost converter) 6 for ~$12.00

2A
2 to 24v input, up to 28v out.

Buck converter:

LM2596HVS
$1.50 each
Input Voltage:4.5V ~ 53V
Output Voltage:3V ~ 40V
Output Current:3A (max)

That is buck, or step-down.
A boost converter steps up voltage.
There are also buck/boost converters, which can do both.

LM2596 (buck) boards are common/cheap.
