bootloading

i was wondering if i have to burn bootloader to the m.c every time i want to upload a sketch? and if it is like that what can i do to be able to upload sketches without bootloading every time before?
thanks

you only need to burn a bootloader if you build your own board
all the commercial boards come with bootloader already installed

so you just need to upload your sketches!

No. You should be able to burn the bootloader once and then upload new sketches using the bootloader.

Sounds like auto-reset is not working for some reason. Could be the USB to Serial adapter or the circuitry between that and the reset pin of of the ATmega.

You can use the manual reset button instead. Hold it down, click on the Upload button in the sketch window, and release the Reset button wen you see the "Binary sketch size:" message in the sketch window. If you have RX and TX LED's on your Arduino you can just hold down the Reset button until one of the lights blinks.
