My house has a commercial Bosch D7412G system that's about 12 years old now. I'd like to tinker with some integration (without blowing it up!).
I know that it supports serial communication over a bus called "SDI". Every module in the system has a power, ground, and two data wires - yellow and green.
I'm secretly hoping can just connect those to my RX/TX lines and get the baud rate right and be able to integrate with the alarm panel. But there's also a good chance that's a 12V data bus!
Anyone know anything about SDI or Bosch alarms? I think it'd be cool to be able to integrate with the alarm system and get arming status, zone alerts, that sort of thing.
