I'm planning on creating some sort of storage lock box, but I am stuck, I don't know what to use as a lock I saw some people use servos but I believe that is not efficent do you guys know of any better way?
Why isn't a servo efficient? You can use a simple slide bolt and a cheap servo and make a strong lock. If you want to go overkill, a solenoid would work, but be slightly harder to match travel-wise.

You can use electromagnet lock or an actuator.
The above things can be easily controlled using an arduino.
