Boxes for Arduino projects

I have a couple of projects with breadboards and components laying all around. Aside from the messy looks, it is also risky to have all these electronic components laying around.

I have the classical box, but it is too small for my latest projects.

I was thinking of setting up a bigger box and googled a bit

the box from practicalarduino examples looks like the right one for me. Anyone has idea where one may buy it online?

Alternatively, I may end up building one out of plastic sheets.

What is your experience, post pictures of your project enclosures

Ever think of picking up cigar boxes from your local cigar shop?
The fellow I go to sells them for $5 a pop.

Pencil boxes, plastic food containers -- I have a project in a sandwich box. A big mess of nylon nuts and bolts and some nylon tubing to cut into stand-offs will come in handy. I personally don't like metal enclosures, so the biscuit or Altoids tin stuff is not to my liking.

Check out Really Useful Boxes, found at Staples, Officemax, or online.

martin_bg,

the enclosure w/ transparent lid looks like a Jaycar one.
Without the dimensions it's hard to give you the correct catalogue number.

Based on your picture, it looks like CAT. NO. HB6218 "Sealed Polycarbonate Enclosures 171 x 121 x 55" (mm)
or CAT. NO. HB6220 "Sealed Polycarbonate Enclosures 222 x 146 x 55mm" (mm).

Thanks for your comments.

In the mean time I also stumbled upon this casing, which looks like what I need:

I think this is the best box for Arduino I have seen so far and will fit my needs.

Any electrical wholesaler will supply you with what is called an adaptable box, available in many sizes and some with a transparent lid.

I like these guys, though a tad spendy
