This report would have more information with
"Show verbose output during compilation"
enabled in File > Preferences.

And your circuit is what ?

if you have still same problem try version 1.0.6

https://www.arduino.cc/en/Main/OldSoftwareReleases

Is what you have built equivalent to an "Arduino Mega or Mega 2560, ATmega2560 (Mega 2560)"

I tried this is what i get.

I think its more of a uno.

I think its more of a uno.

Then why not set the board type to Uno ?

Yes i find a solution i hope; If you are have cheap USBasp programmer u can try this http://www.instructables.com/id/USBASP-Bootloading-a-ATMega328p-with-a-8mhZ-intern/

gageglade: http://www.notesandvolts.com/2012/12/fun-with-arduino-arduino-on-breadboard.html

That shows an Atmega328P.

That is not a Arduino Mega or Mega 2560, ATmega2560.

I have installed arduino 1.6.5 windows version, i am using arduino pro mini and usbaps programmer. i work fine with previous version (1.6.0.) but and having issues with 1.6.5. the error report as error report i get each time i use "upload using programmer" Error while uploading: missing 'program.tool' configuration parameter

What's the objection to going back to a working version of the IDE?

Hi, Are you using a 328 that is loaded with the bootloader? Are you using the instructions in the tutorial following the linked page?

Tom.... :)
