Break beam controlled motor

Just wondering if I have all the necessary parts to get this project up and running. The project involves setting up a break beam sensor to turn on and off a motor each time the beam is broken. Here are my parts:

Arduino Uno
L293D chip
Dc Motor
Break beam sensors

Also, if anyone has suggestions or tips, please let me know.

Just names like "DC Motor" and "Break beam sensors" don't tell us very much. I have DC motors that would kill a L283D stone dead in microseconds.

But if the sensors work with whatever you want them to sense and if the motor only needs the minimal power that an L293D can supply then you're probably o.k. You will need something to power it all. Give it a go and see if it works for you.


You seem to be lacking decoupling capacitors for the L293D.
