Building a ROV: Need advice on the brushless motors

Hello!

I am currently building an acrylic (plexiglass) ROV underwater vehicle.
I have many problems figured out and it is going well.

The only problem still remains is the brushless motors. They must have reverse.
I suppose RC car motors do have reverse ? That is:

center stick = idle
back stick = reverse
forward stick = forward

Can anyone confirm this ?

(for example, RC airplane motors do not have reverse. Unfortunately I dont know anything about RC cars)

Yes, R/C cars usually have reverse.

It isn't the motor that is the issue - it is the ESC (electronic speed control). You need to make sure that your ESC for the brushless motor is designed to allow for reverse. An ESC meant for RC airplanes does not have a reverse mode.
