Building an ultrasound probe

Hi everyone,

I'm doing some research into building an ultrasound probe like those used in the hospital (although, my aim probably something of far lower quality) to connect with an arduino. Every search I do on Google seems to return something or other on ultrasonic range finders which is not what I want.

Does anyone have any information on how feasible something like this would be?

If you mean "ultrasonic imaging" , than very complicated. Depends on the medium (water?) you may need higher freq. transducers , 250k -- 5MHz, and consequently much higher sampling rate / processing speed, than common arduino could afford.

No you can not do ultrasonic imaging on an Arduino there is not enough memory nor processing speed.
